Get Off My Lawn

I can't tell if he's laughing or crying.

Requiem For a Carbuncle

I didn’t get a chance to reblog Victo Dolore’s stirring tribute to Fester yesterday so here it is today. If you haven’t already, I strongly encourage you to check out her blog, a favourite spot of mine here on WordPress. And who knows, if you ask nicely maybe she’ll write a poem for your carbuncle.

Behind the White Coat

Black amd white small flowers and buds.
With awful
Purulent offal
Fester was filled
Spurting forth
From bowels
Oder most Foul

Detritus

And creamy pus
Mingled there
A pocket of
Sebaceous

Sterile room

Impaled
Lanced, drained
Excised
None remained
Fester had met
His demise

A few days ago, John Callaghan wrote a side splitting post about his own sebaceous cyst, Fester (please, please check out his post here). That sucker is slated for removal 7/29. He suggested yesterday that I should write a poem about that cyst, so here it is.

  2. Delectably divine (considering the subject!) When I get my own Festina I’ll know where to go if I decide to immortalize her!

  3. Maybe I can get one for that ingrown hair 😉

  4. I just have to share… after stopping by your blog to read the original about Fester yesterday I had to Google ‘carbuncle’ for a better idea of what one really was, although I knew it was cyst related, I did not know that a carbuncle is a series of connected pockets of grossness. Of course, I just happened to notice a YouTube link…the next 40 minutes were spent in utter joy watching gunk ooze from strangers bodies. Best. Day. Ever.
